SOLIDWORKS cannot run directly on macOS, so first you will need to install Windows on your Mac using an application such as Boot Camp or Parallels. There are other considerations such as graphics performance and the applications you are using SOLIDWORKS for. Watch the video above for a guide to this, alternatively, visit the original Solid. In the past, to reallocate free space on your Mac, you’d need to back up the Boot Camp partition, delete the partition, recreate an NTFS partition with a new size and, finally, restore the Windows partition backup to the new NTFS partition. This process could take anywhere between two and five hours. In Windows on your Mac, click in the right side of the taskbar, click the Boot Camp icon, then choose Boot Camp Control Panel. If a User Account Control dialog appears, click Yes. Select the startup disk that has the default operating system you want to use. If you want to start up using the default operating system now, click Restart.

Since you just need to burn an ISO to USB to create bootable media, the free trial version is already good enough. Well I have got an alternate fix, with the use of Brigadier, that downloads BootCamp 6.0 for my MacBookPro9,1 mid-2012, and 6.1 supports the APFS-boot-to-mac-functionality. First install the version that won't support all keys on ancient macbooks, with Brigadier -m iMac19,1 Then you will have in your Download folder a BootCamp 6.1 install.
