Mac Pro 1.1 El Capitan Install

Question :

Apple's latest update to Mac OS X, 10.11 El Capitan, is currently available in the Mac App Store for everyone to download and install at no cost. The new OS features Split View mode for better multitasking, a cleaner Mission Control, smarter Spotlight, a way to mute Safari tabs playing audio, enhanced Mail and Notes apps, and more. First you will need to download the restore disk image of El Capitan (10.11.6) which you will need to install onto your hard drive of the 1,1/2.1 Mac Pro. To get the image click here. Now that you have the restore image it needs to be restored to your Mac Pro. Jan 01, 2007 I use my MacBook Pro with El Capitan as the boot drive and use the MAC Pro G5 as a storage device - the Mac Pro still boots to Lion but it is controlled by my MacBook Pro. The method I used was via an Ethernet '7' connection. One good thing about doing this is if I want to use a 'retro' version of an application. I still can on the Mac Pro. El Capitan disk has an embbed security certificate that has expired in 2016. Just change your system date, let's say to, install El Capitan, then change the date back to today. MacBook Pro 15' Unibody Mid 2009. You will need a more recent video card-I use a 5770. The process is simple. Install El Cap on an SSD/HD using another mac that does support El Cap, disable csr, and then change the boot.efi file to an alternate ( ) optionally using a script to make things easier ( ).

I read somewhere that it is possible to install the latest version of OSX 10.10 Yosemite on my Mac, even though the official installer refuses to install.

Mac

Can you give me any directions ?

Answer :

Apple

Installing newer versions of OSX on slightly older Macs that do not meet the official system requirements can be done using MacPostFactor (MCPF).

MacPostFactor also supports installing OSX versions up to OSX 10.10 Yosemite on older Macs. And a new version that supports installing OSX 10.11 El_Capitan is in the works.
