A downloadable tool for Windows, macOS, and Linux
Hexels gives you full control over the vector-to-pixel rendering process. Advanced rasterization tools provide vector alignment, pixel-perfect isometric art, pixel scaling, and antialiasing at any export resolution. And because Hexels renders everything on the GPU, you’ll see a pixel-perfect preview on the canvas as you paint. Minecraft Map Art Maker pixelates and reduces the colour palette of your uploaded image to one that can be shown in Minecraft maps using vanilla blocks. It then identifies the coordinates and exact blocks to place in your world for each pixel, so that a map of the area will display the final image! The placement can be automated by writing.
Slate is a pixel art/bitmap editor available for Linux, Windows and Mac. Using slate, you can edit images directly, use layers and create seamless 2D tilesets for games. Slate was built for pixel art, and its goal is to simplify the creation of sprites and tilesets by offering a user-friendly, customisable interface.

I've tried it, and the UI is really clean! Would love to see more features and some quality of life changes :)
Still I don't understand how I should be able to insert a tile into the right side of the program like in the screenshot ._.
Thanks! Feel free to report suggestions on the GitHub page:
